Guidelines for How to avoid Phishing scams

By: Scam Ripper

The enormous mainstream of Phishing scams consist of fake email which connects to a bogus web page or site. The email wording recommends you to finish an important process by means of a link which opens a fake web page. That necessary process has incorporated bank account confirmation, unacceptable credit/debit card information, attempts hacking of your account, reward draws and bank account suspension, to person's name but a small number of. In a lot of cases, the email has incorporated worm viruses which make a browser type form to a certain extent than opening a web page.

For several months, this is made easier for the perpetrators when a virus was establish in Internet Explorer browsers which permitted a false URL to be shown in the browser's address bar whereas a fake page was being viewed.

The fake web pages more often than not have a form to offer the information that the scammers want to make use of to place scam. This generally comprise use of the sufferers' credit/debit card to open online accounts and take control of online accounts to steal cash. For example, eBay user have had their account takeover in this way while the scammers use the account to catalog high worth items, take delivery of payments from promising buyers but on no account send the goods. Further sufferers have had their credit ranking and monetary source of revenue shattered when their personality has been use to lift up money, while others have seen their credit or debit cards used by others to buy goods online.

Stay away from becoming a fool of a Phishing Scam by following these rules...
* Take care of all email with misgiving - What you observe in the email body be able to be fake, the sender's address or return address can be fake and the email subtitle can as well be manipulated to disguise its right source

Expanding My Horizons

I recently started thinking about all of the photos I format for my clients websites.  Have you ever noticed that the color is less green, yellow or pink once they get on your site?  I make them cleaner, sharper and more vibrant.  I've been doing this for a long time so I've gotten pretty good at it.  Now I have put together a website selling this service.  I'll still clean up your photos when I put them on your website, but this is for any other photos.  Everything from old photo restoration to making your Facebook photo look a little nicer.  Check out some of my before and after work at:

www.digitalphototouchup.com.

A few of my Favorite Toys - I mean Tools

Since my life is pretty much spent on a computer, I use a lot of different programs in my day to day work to make tasks simpler and faster.  Here are a few really cool and inexpensive tools I just couldn't do without!

www.wavget.com has a really neat tool I use called Type It In Pro.  It stores account numbers or any text you use over and over again.  When I send an invoice do you think I type in "You can pay your bill online by . . . "  Heck no, I click a button and Type It In does it for me. I use this program for passwords, account numbers, credit card numbers, java script snippets and other stuff I use in making websites.  The cost is $19.95 an they don't have an affiliate program so I don't get anything for recommending them.

Another program that I use a lot is call Capture Wiz Pro from Pixel metrics. www.pixelmetrics.com.

The cost of this program is about $40.00 (I don't get any kickbacks), but it will capture anything on your screen.  Just drag a box and save it to your clipboard, or to a .jpg, .gif or pg file.  It also will record audio and video from a website. I use this program at least 50 times a day!

When I need to resize or optimize photos for the web in large batches I use Land of Com's Photo Elf.  It looks cheesy, but this program will batch rename, size and do all sorts of editing to photos for you. $40.00

www.photoelf.com/

I also use a little program called File Monkey by www.monkeyjob.com/

FileMonkey automates common time consuming file operations.

This package can copy, move, split, search, replace, rename, alter case, generate lists, trim, truncate, crop, chop, set attributes, encrypt, decrypt, wipe, delete, extract and more. Cost: $29.00 but can save a lot of time.  MonkeyJob has some other cool tools on their website worth checking out.
